Mature Make-up.

Recommened Products.

Moistureiser & Primer - in older skin the prep is as equally important as the make-up as the skin needs to be hydrated and nourished so the make-up sits well on the skin. It also allows them to use light products as the skin will have a healthy glow from these products.

BB Cream - it is light tetxure on the skin and light coverage so perefct for using as it wont excuntuate any fine lines.

Matt Shadows/Blushers - Using matt colours will elimiate the enhancement of any fine lines, complimenting mature skin.

Clear Brow Gel/Powder prodcuts- Use as for older women they dont want heavy brows they want the look to be as natural as possible (mostly speaking)

Paint pots/cream shadows - this is used as a base for eyeshadow to sit on as it keeps it in place and not fall

Mineralized Products - These products are get milled and fine so any shine to them is tiny making it perfect for highlighting on mature skin.

Recommened brushes.

Duo Fribres -  these brushes have two lengths of bristles, the long to apply the product and the other to buff into the skin, using these brushes will allow a light applcation and coveageto the skin because of this it doesnt excentuate any fine lines

Flat brow brush - this doesnt leave such a persise or harsh line as the angeled brush making it perfect for the more natural look desired by mature clients

Fluffy brushes- For shadow or concealer - this applies a smaller amount of product giving it a softer look

Fan brush - applying mascara with this gives a more natrual look with no clumps you also get more control on how much is apllied and the curling of the lashes.

Tips.

  • Avoid large pigments/high shine products as these will get trapped in as fine lines in the skin and make them more prominent, however you can place small amount of shine product for highlighting in controlled placement and never too close to the eye.

  • Many mature skins are naturally slightly redder so avoid choosing blushers with a red undertone as this will bring it back and counteract any work you have done to remove it

  • Dont use bronzer on its own as mature skin needs warming rather than sculpting as contouring is rarely used for mature skin due to the changes of fat distribuation (as disscussed in my Task 1 research) meaning more highlighting is needed (consider the face shape).

  • Dark colours will age th eye more.

  • Placement of colours and tetxures is key to working with the mature skin

  • Line small eyes with white liner

  • Mature clients tend to like the focus to be on glowing healhty looking skin with either the eyes or lips as the statement
