Sea colours and textures.
Here I am collected a varitey of images to do with the sea, both real life photographs I have taken, those others have taken and then makeup/body painting interpratations to inspire my design. This is a teathre context and I want it to be bold but easily recognisable withing taking away the attention from the hair.

Sea abroad images.
Body Painting images.
Image 13.0 - Soft waves
I really like the movement that this painting has added to the body, the depth of colour works really well against each other making it not appear flat.
I don't like the glitter applied all over the body as this takes some of the depth away for me, personally I would have only applied it in the lighter areas. Or used a darker glittler on the deeper areas.
Image 13.1 - Full body waves
Here I think the waves almost look like animals the way the textire has been painted into the crashing part (white).
I don't like how the only texture is within the white part the rest is quiet flat and plain Which I think takes away my intrest when looking at this piece.
I don't like how all the back hasn't been used to create the sea, it is only a feature for me it feels like it hasn't been finsihed off.
But the movement and texture created with the painting keeps making me look back at this image. Even though extreme tones haven't been used it still has alot going on wihtout it starting to look flat.
Image 13.2 - Looser painted waves
This is very different to the others as it is a sea themed look rather than just the sea. I like the used of he eyes as the focal point and creating the look arounf them.
However I find that most of the colours have a muddy tint to them which makes the piece look abit drab and dull, not the intensity I am looking for.
Image 13.3 - Swamp Water
This is the english sea and it is far from what we normally think of when we think of the beach. We think the beaches and oceans in hot countries, we imagine heat, bright shimmering sand, warm bright blues/turquoise tones in the sea. Whereas for use th erealitly is a darker duller blue tone the waves eventially become a white where they crash onto the sand. So perception of the sea is something I am considering when designing as if is too realistic like these photos it won't be inspiring or colourful as I am imagining the theatre show.
